Meet the Artists

Betsy Whatley

Betsy T. Whatley is a native of Raleigh, N.C., but has spent the last 40 years traveling and living in the South, Midwest, far west, and through the Pacific basin to Japan. Over the years her vision of art and her technique have absorbed the influences of many cultures. She paints in oil, acrylics, watercolors, and pen & ink. Betsy tinted antique etching for a large collection for several years. She has studied pottery and sculpts in clay, wax, and metal.
Betsy has been a florist and an interior decorator. For the last two years she has been an artist for a nationally known furniture company. Now that she has finally "come home" to N.C., she has started her own business, Design Line, allowing her to have an outlet for her multifaceted interest and talents. She takes custom orders for pet portraits, house portraits, special floral designs in both silk and dried, and all old and new painted furniture.
Betsy is delighted to be a Guild member and to be back in the Tar Heel state.
