Patricia has been dabbling with art in one form or another since retiring and moving from New York to Hendersonville, North Carolina. Trying to find a niche, she attended oil, watercolor, pen and ink classes. As a Christmas present from her daughter, she received a microfluer press, a tool that allows pressing flowers in a relatively short time frame (like seconds). This gift sparked a new interest in Patricia. Gardening is also a well-developed passion. Newly retired, Patricia finally had the time to pursue her passions. She combined the love of gardening with her skill with the microfluer press. With those two key ingredients in place, she was up and running.
Her projects started simply with bookmarks and expanded to designing 5 x 7 card and 3 x 4 note cards. Recently she has added dried flower frames in various sizes, dried flower pewter bookmarks and magnets to her repertoire.
Her friends, “the lunch bunch”, showed a lot of interest in her work. They started to make purchases and even began ordering more. She thought to herself, “Maybe I’ve hit on something here”. Patricia’s work can be seen and purchased at the Carolina Mountain Artists Guild shop on Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
